Mid-July, Pastor Danny Beech led a team from ECBC to the Borgo Nuovo community outside of Palermo, Sicily, to serve alongside East Cooper partners. This team, which included adults and kids, helped to host a 5-day family fair in the central community park.

The fair was designed to be an outreach ministry from a small local church in hopes of sharing the gospel and love of Jesus with those living in Borgo Nuovo. Each day, the fair included booths, games, crafts, songs, face painting, prizes, balloon animals, food, and more! In addition, the older kids got to participate in 2-on-2 cage soccer tournaments, a bike race track, and a fish casting station. Then, in the evenings, the ECBC team helped ot host community-wide events, including an outdoor movie, karaoke night, and a fireworks finale. 

Hosting the fair and community-wide events gave the local church an opportunity to make their presence known in the community. ECBC has partnered with this church for 3 years in a row to host community events like these. Over the years, the community has grown to know and trust the church and volunteers, with many connections being made and some individuals already coming to know Christ as their Savior! Through these events and the ministry of this local church, the gospel of Christ is burning brighter and brighter each year. 

Please continue to pray for the Il Sicomoro church as they strive to make Christ known among the Borgo Nuovo community. Ask the Lord to sustain and grow them, even with the limited resources they have available. Pray for those who attended the community events, that they would remember the love that was put on display and that they would be drawn to Christ as a result.
