Position Summary
Provide administrative assistance to the Communications and Technology Directors by assisting in the planning and execution of small and large scale projects, communicating with church staff on database needs, and helping to maintain database and departmental tasks. This position requires the assistant to be available and organized, work excellently with other departments, and in general possess good interpersonal and problem solving skills. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support directors in daily, weekly, and monthly tasks that are professionally related.
  • Help to manage a project budget and gather quotes and pricing for project needs.
  • Plan, manage, and support database projects.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with staff about database updates and needs.
  • Provide training for staff as church database needs arise.
  • Support other ministry areas when requested and time is available.

Job Title: Director of Operations

Position Summary
The Director of Operations is responsible for financial recording and reporting, for external communications, for the IT infrastructure, and for the ‘outward face’ of East Cooper Baptist Church (ie. front desk). The position also has responsibility for campus facilities (maintenance, repairs, cleaning, safety & security). The position provides financial and ministry information to employees, Elders, Deacons, and to the congregation.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversees and works alongside the relevant department heads within Communications, Finance, Facilities, Human Resources, Maintenance, and Security.  
  • Ensure efficient cross-functional collaboration and successful execution of projects and initiatives while driving the implementation of strategic initiatives and optimizing operational processes.
  • Ensures that there is a preventative maintenance plan in place for major items and that day-to-day repairs are completed expeditiously. Ensures building and activities meet all federal, state, and local licensing and permit requirements.
    Provides risk assessments with regard to insurance, liability, and non-conforming activities or uses.
  • Ensures that major contracts with suppliers are appropriate and cost-effective.
  • Assists in developing and implementing long-term strategy for facilities usage and oversees deferred maintenance account, expenditures, and long-term usage strategy.
  • Assists the SLT in goal setting, planning, prioritizing, and ministry implementation.
  • Oversees and supervises Office Administrator position and responsibilities.

Job Title: Facilities Assistant

Position Summary
Work with the facility personnel, pastors, teachers, and volunteers to achieve the objectives of East Cooper Baptist Church, Palmetto Christian Academy & Campus Outreach. Reports to the Facilities Manager while assisting with the overall operations of the physical buildings.

Assists the building and grounds maintenance employees, contractors and volunteers with room set-up and tear-down; room & equipment cleaning; minor painting and repairs; etc.

Job Title: Middle School Ministry Associate
Reports to: Middle School Pastor/Director

Position Summary
Help lead the Middle School Ministry by assisting leadership, staff, and volunteers. The position is split between administrative responsibilities and a personal ministry with students. The administrative responsibilities include event and retreat planning, oversight of the ministry’s finances, etc. The associate’s personal ministry will be to middle school girls and leaders and will involve relationship building, evangelism, and discipleship.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Development of ministry goals and vision
  • Logistics, scheduling, and administration of ministry events. Events occur weekly, monthly, and quarterly; trips/retreats can be up to 4x yearly. 
  • Communication throughout the ministry; preparing and sending flyers, newsletters, emails, and reminders to staff, students, and parents as needed
  • Ministry finances; oversight of ministry budget and completion of expenditure and reimbursement forms
  • Relationship building, evangelism, and discipleship with middle school girls

Job Title: Nursery Caregivers
Status: Part-time Hourly

Position Description
The ECBC Nursery Department desires to hire Nursery Caregivers to help with various day and evening ministry events. Workers must be at least 15 years of age and must provide previous experience caring for children. The Nursery Department will train each new Caregiver hired. The Nursery Caregiver is to provide care for the overall needs of each child in their classroom. The Nursery Caregiver is an hourly paid position. Adults $15.00 per hour and Teens $12.00 per hour.

Job Title: Private Music Lessons Educator

Position Summary:
The Private Music Lessons Educators would teach one on one lessons on musical instruments or voice based on the teacher’s qualifications and the amount of interest from our ECAA families. Instruments would include (but not be limited to) piano, guitar, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion, drum set, violin, cello.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Private instructors will plan one on one lessons each week during the fall and spring semesters
  • Private instructors will teach good practice skills
  • Private instructors will help prepare students for their concerts if they are involved in a band, choir, or strings program at their school.
  • Private instructors will help prepare students for audition

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A passionate love for the Lord and a desire to serve in the worship ministry
  • Ability to plan and lead private music lessons
  • Proficiency on the instrument(s) or voice part you are hired to teach
  • A recital will be held once a year to showcase the students

Job Title: Worship Wednesday Musical Director

Position Summary
The Worship Wednesday Musical Director would work with the Director of the East Cooper Arts Academy (ECAA) to coordinate and lead the Worship Wednesday Musical class through the Arts Academy. The director would plan and lead 15 rehearsals both semesters. Each semester would conclude with a musical performance. The rehearsals would take place on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 in the Kids Church room at East Cooper Baptist Church.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Pick a musical that is uplifting and encouraging
  • Teach musical concepts needed to perform the music more effectively
  • Prepare the students for a performance in the spring

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A passionate love for the Lord and a desire to serve in the worship ministry

  • Basic piano skills for rehearsals
